Training
Special Operations Training Campus (SV-SOTC)
A 600-acre controlled-access mission training site outside Las Vegas for DoD, federal agencies, law enforcement and allied government units.
Staccato Ranch Vegas mission training site
- 24/7 day and night operations
- Surveyed drop zones
- 1,500 linear feet of subterranean network
- 50+ live-fire bays
- 600 controlled acres
Purpose-built for serious training
SV-SOTC is about 50 miles west of Harry Reid International Airport. Military, federal, state and government units train there under structured training agreements and dedicated access models.
The site sits in Class G (uncontrolled) airspace, and adjacent BLM federal land adds depth for maneuver, mobility and scenario-based training. Multi-day rotations and coordinated training blocks extend what it can support.
Core capabilities at a glance
- Live-fire infrastructure for pistol, carbine and precision rifle
- Subterranean spaces for signal-degraded UAS training and confined-space scenarios
- Airborne/MFF and rotary-wing support with two surveyed drop zones
- Modular range clusters for concurrent training lanes
- Instructor augmentation for firearms and tactical application
- Phased, rotational scheduling for scalable events
Additional instructional specialties are available on request, and curriculum is tailored to each unit's training objectives.

Access and airspace
- 600-acre controlled-access site with perimeter security
- Class G (uncontrolled) airspace for flexible UAS and aviation operations
- Adjacent federal BLM land for extended maneuver depth
- Day and night capability across all training environments
Built for where the mission is going
Expansion is shaped by the units the site supports, and long-term partnerships take priority over one-time use.
Three-story shoot house
In design. A multi-level, multi-room shoot house for complex scenario training, tied into the existing live-fire areas.
UAS / counter-UAS
Expanding. UAS infrastructure keeps evolving to match supported unit requirements.
On-site lodging
Planned. Regional hospitality partners handle coordinated lodging today.
Breaching capability
Planned. Explosive ordnance and breaching capability is under development.
Terrain that trains like the real world
The desert terrain is a force multiplier, not a manicured range complex.
- An isolated footprint for focused, mission-oriented execution
- Natural elevation changes, cover and maneuver corridors
- Adjacent BLM land for extended depth (subject to coordination)
- Distributed lanes so evolutions run at the same time without cross-interference
- Movement environments built for shoot-and-move scenarios
- Subterranean confined spaces with restricted visibility and degraded signals
- Open landing areas for airborne and rotary-wing integration
Structured safety and medical planning
Safety framework
- Structured range safety oversight in a controlled-access environment
- Separated training lanes to minimize cross-interference
- Coordinated scheduling and range allocation for complex events
- Aviation coordination under applicable military and FAA procedures
Medical resources
- Units bring organic medical support per their SOPs
- Desert View Regional Medical Center, Pahrump: about 10–15 minutes by vehicle
- UMC Las Vegas, a Level I trauma center with airlift: about 60 miles / 1 hour
- Air medical evacuation through regional Las Vegas-area medevac providers
